Dear All,

We hope you are doing fine.

Another year went by and it was a very difficult one for all of us at Casa Bentley.
Many people are afraid traveling to Mexico but we can assure you it is still very safe to travel to Todos Santos and Baja California Sur. The difficult economy world wide brings fewer guests to us. 2011 was a difficult year and Bob had many sleepless nights worrying about the Bentley and Beatrice that was very sick for the past 18 months battling cancer.

The good news is that she survived the operation, radiations and the chemo therapy and is recovering fast and she accomplished, together with our staff, a lot of things since her last treatment.

We are very sorry taking so long keeping you up to date on our blog. Bob is doing fine, working hard on Geology. Beatrice was very sick for nearly 18 months. But here she is back again with a lot of energy making Casa Bentley more and more beautiful.

We just opened a new room for economy minded guests. Our new Ginger Room is a gorgeous living spaces filled with local art. All updates will be on our web site soon. Here are our first photos of the new Ginger Room.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Wishes from Bob and Beatrice

Everything is good with us at Casa Bentley.
The hurricanes all went bye bye. Bob is studying our beautiful beaches, the origin of the Todos Santos springs and trying to understand the hazards of the open pit gold mine. We hope to get most of his work on a Casa Bentley blog soon.
Bob is still spending too much time with his geology. He has made some real progress understanding the faults and the geologic history of Todos Santos.
Beatrice is still very busy organizing and working her photos.

Bob and his gang of five Fernando, Tamara, Marty, Steve and Andy made it to the top of the Sierra La Laguna, Tamara met a rabid skunk she did not like, Bob fell in love with a beautiful white mule.

We had a grand party for the Corazon Vaquero movie that was presented at the Todos Santos Film Festival in March 2009.

Heidi is eleven this year, an old girl. She is happy watching over all of us.
Jacques is still a very loving dog "keeping the little kids happy chasing the ball".
Samira, Mojo and the cats enjoy running around the garden and greeting our guests.

2009 was a difficult year for us. Business in Todos Santos is very slow, especially after the swine flu and the bad press.
Baja California Sur is still a very safe place. There is no swine flu and no bandidos, we feel very safe and happy in Todos Santos.

Last May we lost our wonderful maintenance worker Jose. He passed away of cancer only one day after his 42nd birthday.

Alvaro is with us now. We are so fortunate to have him. He works new in maintenance and helps Beatrice in the office. We are very lucky having an excellent staff.

By the end of this year our NEW PASSION FRUIT SUITE will be semi completed and ready to rent. Our first guests just arrived on December 27.
By March 2010 the tile floor will be completed as well as the details in the walls and the concrete details in the bathroom. The Passion Fruit Suite will be re-decorated with one queen bed and one individual bed.

A special 'thank you' to all of you that came visiting us this year or supporting us by recommending us to friends. Please continue spreading the word.
